Hello Friend! It's been a minute. The last few years have led to a lot of imaginary vacations for us all. Yesterday I told my husband, "I just want to go walk around Italy, get some sun, and eat." I thought you might want to come along...
Italy Map Poster
My Italy pattern was one of the first patterns I designed for "Place I Have Never Been." It was 2003 and the movie adaptation of "Under the Tuscan Sun" had just come out. I was in love with that sunlight, the rolling sage-to-forest green hills of Tuscany, and the crumbling yet perfect architecture.
The Italia Poster is my homage to the incredible place that is Italy. The pattern is an abstract hill - full of different greens, with a geometric overlay inspired by an old iron fence detail. The poster is available in multiple sizes, framed and unframed.
TAKE AN IMAGINARY VACATION TO ITALY

Get some sunflowers

Go to Trader Joes and buy out the lot! Put them all over your house. Or maybe fill just one space-your Italian vacation room.

Have a listen

Crank this playlist and imagine you are in an Italian ristorante.

Take a sip

Make yourself a spritz. Pour a little Aperol and a lot of prosecco over some. Add a twist of orange. Snack on some potato chips.

mangia!

Order a pizza. But a good one! In Boston, my favorite is the pepperoni from Venice Pizza. Have a lot of time? Make this Risotto (or better yet - have someone else make it for you.)

screen time

Lose yourself in a movie. Watch Diane Lane find herself in Under The Tuscan Sun. Meet a dapper sociopath in The Talented Mister Ripley. Go to Tuscany in Stealing Beauty. Enjoy (campy) family drama in House of Gucci

VITAMIN D

Now go sit in the sun. Constantly cloudy? May I suggest cranking the heat and sitting in front of one of these?

I hope you enjoyed this imaginary vacation, sometimes these little moments can be the brief respite we need to inspire us.
